International Thespian Society
Prosper Theatre is proud to be home to International Thespian Society Troupe 6800, the honor society for theatre students. The International Thespian Society (ITS) recognizes student achievement in all areas of theatre including performance, design, technical work, and leadership.

Our troupe participates in events such as Troupe Day and the Texas Thespian Festival where students attend workshops, perform, compete, and connect with theatre students from across the state. At Festival, students are able to compete in Individual Events (I.E.’s) such as monologues, technical challenges, and musical theatre, as well as audition for colleges and scholarships.

Prosper Theatre students become eligible for induction into ITS by earning 10 Thespian points, which is the equivalent of 100 hours of theatre work. Inductions are held each May during our annual Prosper Theatre Banquet where new members are officially welcomed into Troupe 6800.
Texas Thespians Festival
Texas Thespians is the state chapter of the Educational Theatre Association (EdTA) and the International Thespian Society (ITS). It’s one of the largest chapters in the U.S., serving theatre students and teachers across Texas.
Each year, Prosper Theatre attenda the Texas Thespian Festival, a massive event where thousands of high school theatre students come together for:
Main Stage & Studio Shows – performances from schools across Texas
Individual Events (IEs) – acting, musical theatre, tech, and design competitions
Workshops – led by professionals in performance, directing, technical theatre, design, etc.
College Auditions & Scholarships – opportunities for juniors and seniors to connect with colleges and showcase their work
Networking & Community – celebrating theatre education and student artistry statewide
It’s basically theatre kids’ Disneyland—three days of nonstop shows, learning, and celebrating the power of theatre.

Texas Thespian Festival will be November 19 - 22, 2025. It is an overnight trip which cost $410.
Interesting in attending? Speak with a director for a packet. Fees can be paid via Ludus or via check.

To become an inducted member and continue your membership status, you must log your points using the ITS Points System. Auditions and socials will count as .5 points. Students can find the points tracker in the binder in the blackbox.
